Are you a budding filmmaker or a seasoned director looking for your next adventure? The Mini Kino Challenge is your arena to spark a new creative journey or polish your cinematic prowess.
Step into the world of movie-making at Místečko on November 11th to join in. Here, you’ll be thrown a curveball challenge that will test your filmmaking mettle, find potential opportunities to join forces with fellow creatives, and set you on a thrilling sprint to produce a short film in just one month.
Your randomly assigned challenge could be technical (affecting how you shoot your film) or narrative (influencing the story you tell). If you form a team, you’ll merge your challenges together.
Films are due by December 10th. Then, on December 16th, experience the transformation of Místečko into a vibrant film theatre, where your work will hit the big screen at our eagerly anticipated Mini Kino Film Festival.

The deadline to send us your film is 23:59 p.m.
After this date, we will not be able to accept any projects. They will be in review and preparation for the evening screening.

December 16
Screening from 6 p.m.
We meet in Místečko for an evening screening of all the films.
On December 16 in Mistecko, the screening of some 12 films made during this month of creation took place.
Gathered with 40 curious people, in this now narrow room, the stories mixed laughter, questioning and contemplation.
We would like to thank once again all the participants of this first edition, thus opening up a new perspective for the next edition.

What are the technical rules for films?
Format: MP4.
Codec: H.264.
Resolution: free to choose.
Frame rate: free to choose.
Bitrate: 30mb/s maximum.
Duration: 5 minutes maximum.
What should the language of the film be ?
You are free to choose the language you want. if it is not English, please attach English subtitles.
How to send us your movie ?
All movies must be uploaded via send.tresorit.com.
Then the link have to be sent to mini-kino@mistecko.art before December 11th 2023, 23:59.
In your mail specify your team, and a short description of the movie.
If your movie is bigger than 5GB (it should not), please contact us.
Can I join this edition remotely ?
For the first edition of this event, a remote participation is welcome. This means you can join us from any location even if we prefer to have you with us. If you choose this option, you have to preregister and we'll send you a video of drawing your rule on November 11th.
What is the maximum team size ?
You have the choice to participate on your own or as a team. If you come "in person", we will need to know your team members when registering.
The team limit is 5 members.
Where do the rules come from ?
The rules were generously written by visitors to the Místečko's gallery.
What if I don't like my rule ?
Before confirming your registration, you can exchange your rule with other participants. But keep in mind that the goal is to get out of your comfort zone. A rule that is far from your wish can push creativity even further.
What is our philosophy ?
Born from the desire to transmit a passion for audiovisual creation, Mini Kino aims to establish a creative environment for all.
We believe in the potential of everyone and try to push people to action.
Additionally, we use a rule assignment system which refers to the famous Oblique Strategies, a card-based method promoting creativity, created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt.
